Dimraeth Races: 8 Advertised, 3 Playable at Early Access Launch
The store says 8 races, but Dimraeth Early Access ships fewer. How the advertised roster differs from the launch list, and what race choice actually changes.
Dimraeth advertises eight races × six classes = 48 Archetypes, but that is the full-release target rather than today’s menu. Early Access adds Elf on top of the Human and Minotaur that demo and playtest players already had, which makes three playable races at launch. The developer has said publicly that a new race or class lands roughly every four months. Race choice is not cosmetic either: the race and class pairing defines your Archetype, each pairing has its own skill tree and playstyle, and races bring their own abilities and spells.
Advertised scope versus launch scope
| Item | Official statement | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Races at full release | 8 | Stated on the store page and official site; the roster itself is unpublished |
| Classes at full release | 6 | Same |
| Combinations | 48 Archetypes, each with its own skill tree | Store page |
| Added in Early Access | Elf | 2026-09-02 developer announcement |
| Races demo players had | Human, Minotaur | Official site Races section, with full descriptions |
| Playable at launch | 3 | Assembled from the announced addition plus the demo roster; the developer never published a launch list |
| Cadence | Roughly one new race or class every four months | Developer reply on r/dimraeth |
Where does “3” come from? It needs spelling out. The store page and official site describe the finished scope, the Early Access announcement adds exactly one race, and the gap between the two is what players kept asking about. The developer’s answer described a release cadence, not a list. So treat three as the announced addition plus what was already playable — the studio has not published a launch roster.
One easy misreading: the official site’s Races section shows only Minotaur and Human. Those are the two with full write-ups, not the only two in the game.
The races the developer has described
Minotaur. Seven to ten feet tall with a bull’s head and curved horns that can grow several feet long. The developer stresses that minotaurs are known for intelligence and strategic thinking — not just warriors, but skilled at tactics and problem-solving.
Human. Renowned for ingenuity and adaptability, the most populous race in Mirkea. They thrive in diverse environments and contribute significantly to the realm’s cultural and technological progress.
Elf. The developer confirms it exists and is playable, but the official site has no character write-up yet. Any detailed claim about elven abilities, growth or exclusive spells currently has no first-party source.
What race choice actually changes
Races are not a stat bonus; they form a fixed pairing with your class:
- Archetype and skill tree. The store page says each pairing has its own skill tree and playstyle, so your race partly decides which build you can walk into.
- Racial abilities. The official site mentions distinct racial abilities.
- Racial spells. The store page states that your race and class each offer their own spells, alongside universal magic from crafted spellbooks — all competing for the same five slots.
- Attribute gates. Spells require attributes, and you cannot equip one you do not qualify for, so race indirectly shapes where your attribute points go.
Choosing your first race
- Start from the combat problem. Is your goal front-line pressure, elemental burst, or something stealthier with more mobility?
- Check ability fit. With only three launch races, experimenting is cheap: pick the race you want to play and let the class direction fill the gaps.
- Check spell gates last. If a specific spell matters to you, work out the attributes it needs before you commit.
This order is assembled from the mechanics the developer has published, not from an official recommendation chart. No official race ranking or “best combination” list exists.
Player speculation, clearly labelled
A community list circulating online proposes Human, Elf, Dwarf, Minotaur, Centaur, Golem, Fairy, Troll and Griffon, and some posts say the game has six races rather than eight. None of that has an official source: the developer’s stated figure is eight races with no roster published. Treat those as guesses — planning your character around them will mislead you.
