Does Dimraeth Use AI? Separating the Accusations From the Facts
In April 2026 a player accused the Dimraeth demo of AI voice acting, and the same thread claimed it was removed. No official statement exists yet.
The controversy comes down to one thing: on 14 April 2026 a player publicly accused Dimraeth’s demo of using AI voice acting, and the same thread later claimed the developer removed those voices soon after — a claim that rests only on player statements, with no matching official announcement. As of 2026-09-14 the developer has published nothing about AI content on the official website, in Steam announcements, in the official FAQ or on the official X account, and the current Steam store page carries no AI content disclosure. The easiest mistake here is conflating three completely different things called “AI”, so start by separating them.
Three different kinds of “AI”
Searching for Dimraeth ai returns three unrelated topics, and only the third is actually disputed:
- In-game enemy AI: monster behaviour and boss mechanics. Unrelated to the controversy, and worth judging from actual combat.
- Tools used during development: many studios use AI assistance for art, code or localisation. The developer has not published its toolchain, so this cannot be confirmed or denied.
- Generative content assets: whether voice acting or artwork was AI-generated. This is the only category with a real accusation, and it is what the rest of this article covers.

What the developer has said so far
This is the most important section. We checked four official channels one by one:

The precise conclusion: “the developer never responded” cannot be asserted, because announcements and replies inside the official Discord were not part of this review. What can be asserted is that no official channel has published a statement that can be verified from outside.
The state of the store page disclosure
Steam lets developers fill in an AI Generated Content Disclosure. We checked twice:
- Current store page: no AI-related text anywhere, and no disclosure block.
- Archived demo page: the Wayback Machine snapshot of the Dimraeth Demo store page from 2026-04-06 also contains no such disclosure. That snapshot may be a reduced version of the page, which limits what this review could confirm.
One third-party fan wiki claims the Steam store page says “certain voice performances are generated using AI tools”. We could not reproduce that text on the live page or in the archived demo page, so it is recorded here as a third-party claim only. If you see the quote elsewhere, verify it the same way before repeating it.

Five checks you can run yourself
- Open the current Steam store page and search for “AI” to see whether a disclosure block exists;
- Scan the Steam news hub’s recent announcements for anything about voice work or assets;
- Check the official Discord’s announcement channel and developer replies — one of the most likely places for a statement, and outside this check;
- Check the official X account’s recent posts;
- Once Early Access is live, treat the in-game credits and the actual audio as the final answer.
What to watch next
- Whether the first major post-launch update mentions voice production;
- Whether an AI content disclosure appears on the store page;
- Whether the developer responds to the still-active discussion threads;
- Whether the discussion spreads from voice acting to art or other assets. If new evidence appears, updates here will keep the same “who said it / how confident” split.
