Dimraeth Classes & Skill Tree: 6 Planned, 3 at Early Access Launch
Dimraeth advertises 6 classes and 48 Archetypes, but Early Access ships Brawler, Magician and Shadow. How the skill tree works and how to pick your first class.
Dimraeth advertises six classes which combine with eight races into 48 Archetypes, each with its own skill tree and playstyle. Early Access adds only Shadow on top of the Brawler and Magician that demo players already had, so there are three classes at launch, and the developer says a new class or race arrives roughly every four months. The part that matters when choosing is that your class supplies half your spell pool: class spells, racial spells and crafted spellbook magic all compete for five slots, and every spell has an attribute requirement you have to meet.
Planned scope versus launch scope
| Item | Official statement | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Classes at full release | 6 | Stated on the store page and official site; roster unpublished |
| Combinations | 48 Archetypes | Each with its own skill tree |
| Added in Early Access | Shadow | 2026-09-02 developer announcement |
| Fully described by the developer | Magician, Brawler | Official site Classes section |
| Playable at launch | 3 | Announced addition plus the demo roster, which included Brawler and Magician |
| Cadence | Roughly one new class or race every four months | Developer reply on r/dimraeth |
As with races, “three at launch” is assembled from the announced addition and what demo players could already play. The developer never published a launch class list of its own.
Where the official information currently stops
The developer has published very different amounts of detail for the three classes. This table is the whole of it: Magician and Brawler have full descriptions, Shadow has a name.
| Class | Official description | Still unknown |
|---|---|---|
| Magician | Wields elemental magic to enhance combat, blending spells with weapon strikes to control the battlefield; can summon fire, frost or lightning and adapts tactics to enemy weaknesses, combining arcane power with martial precision | Spell list, numbers, growth curve |
| Brawler | A close-combat specialist combining weapon strikes with feral, instinctive techniques; excels at grappling, swift attacks and unpredictable movement, lightly armoured and agile, relying on relentless stamina and cunning to overwhelm foes | Specific skills, damage types, weapon options |
| Shadow | The 2026-09-02 announcement confirms it as a new Early Access class | Skills, attributes, playstyle — officially, nothing |
Shadow having only a name matters for planning: if you want to play a shadow route at launch you will have to try it in game, and any “shadow works best as X” claim has nothing behind it right now.
The state of the skill tree and attributes
- Early Access officially “includes a working skill tree and attribute system”, so the system is playable rather than a stub.
- The 2026-09-02 announcement lists a skill tree overhaul in this update cycle, meaning the structure itself is still changing.
- The full release plans to extend the late-game skill and equipment ceiling.
- The structure is unannounced: node count, tiers, whether branches unlock conditionally, and whether you can respec are all unpublished.
How the tree is layered should be taken from official statements only: the developer confirms it exists and is being overhauled in this cycle. A community post described it as three trees in one, but that post is not fully available to verify, so it is not treated here as confirmed. Once the game is live, the character screen is the definitive answer.
How class choice shapes your five spells
This is the most concrete effect of picking a class:
- Class spells: each class has its own pool.
- Racial spells: your race contributes its own, so the same class plays differently across races.
- Universal magic: obtained through spellbooks your stronghold NPCs craft from monster and boss materials. These usually mirror the creature the materials came from and unlock as the main story advances.
- Attribute requirements: every spell has a gate.
- Five slots: however many you collect, you enter combat with five, so the real decision is the loadout.
One practical conclusion: put attribute points toward the thresholds that unlock the spells you want, rather than spreading them evenly.
Picking your first class
With only three launch options the choice is cheap, so pick the problem you want solved:
- Front-line pressure, grappling and repositioning: that is the Brawler’s official description.
- Elemental control, switching damage types to enemy weaknesses: that is the Magician’s.
- Interested in Shadow: the only verifiable fact is that it is new. Until the developer publishes something, any build advice is speculation.
The developer has never published a class ranking or tier list, so “best class” discussions have no reliable basis in the launch build.
What the developer has not answered
- The full six-class roster;
- Skill tree node structure, tiers and unlock conditions;
- Whether attribute or skill points can be reset;
- Per-class spell lists and numbers;
- Shadow’s skills and identity.
Until those are published, any specific list or number is player speculation — not something to base a purchase or a character plan on.
